28 musicians from Wells Cathedral School have just returned from a week-long tour of Friedrichshafen, on the edge of Lake Constance, where they were invited to perform three concerts in the region.

Youngsters get to grips with green issues |

Pupils at Wells Cathedral School took part in Green Week at the end of June to raise awareness of environment al issues.
The pupils, in Year 7 to 9, spent a week off time-tabled lessons and instead enjoyed activities organised by members of staff and visiting speakers.

Wells Cathedral School teachers David and Sally Rowley jetted off to the Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School in Hong Kong with their two children, William, seven, and Charles, five, who attend St Joseph and St Theresa’s Primary School in Wells during the Easter holiday.

Year 11 pupils at Wells Cathedral School were given a rare opportunity to see and use the only known privately-owned Enigma Code-breaking machine when it was brought to Wells in the first week of July, as part of Enrichment Week at the school.

Pupils at Upton Noble Primary School enjoyed a taste of China at the start of July, when they welcomed Wells Head of EAL (English as an Additional Language), Michael Grogan, Well’s Chinese Mandarin assistant, Huo Min, who also teaches at Wells’ partner school, the Xinghai Music School in Guangzhou, along with three senior Wells pupils, Abraham Lam, Sharon Chan and Cindy Duan.

Sri Lankan Trip of a Lifetime |

A group of twelve pupils from Wells Cathedral School are starting their summer holidays with a trip of a lifetime to Thirrukovil, a small fishing village on the south east coast of Sri Lanka, to help the Reverend Samuel and his wife Hilda with their charity Sam’s Project.
